As a Sense campaigner

As a volunteer campaigner in our Public Policy team you can help us in the vital work of raising awareness around important issues for deafblind people and their families.

A woman campaigning with a placardThe involvement of deafblind people and their families can really help the effectiveness of campaigns because personal stories are a powerful way of influencing decision-makers.

By highlighting our message to MPs, key decision makers or the media, we’re aiming to ensure that Sense campaigns result in changes that give deafblind people the support and opportunities they need to live full and active lives. For instance, our Walk with Me, Talk with Me campaign aims to improve the social care system.

There are lots of different ways people can get involved, from telling us about your experiences of relevant issues and writing letters to meeting decision-makers, taking part in lobbies or talking to the media.

Using our e-campaigning tool, Sense volunteer campaigners can email letters or messages to MPs and other decision makers. Sense sends draft messages to campaigners for them to adapt and send on to their MP.
