Security of information
If I am under 16, can I provide personal information to Sense?
What information is collected?
There are various occasions where you may be asked to provide personal information, for example, on donation forms. This is information that enables us to identify you, such as your date of birth, email address, name, title, postal address and telephone number.
How is this information stored?
Within Sense, only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personal information. On occasion, Sense will provide personal data to an external agency to assist us with a specific project such as the mailing out of our fundraising appeals. This is done under strict agreements regarding the security and confidentiality of all personal data.
How is that information used?
We will use your personal information to provide you with the services, products or information you have requested, to help us understand more about how our site is used, for administration purposes and to further our charitable aims. You will always be given the option to decline or opt out of these communications at any time.
Sense does not sell lists of personal details to other organisations. However from time to time, we may agree with other like-minded organisations to write to some of each other’s supporters, for the mutual benefit of both. Again, you will always be given the option to decline or opt out of such communications at any time when you provide your details.
Who do we share information with?
As a general rule, Sense will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information, except for when we have your permission or under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it.
When you are using our secure online donation pages you are going through to a partner company and the information you give, such as your credit card number and contact information, is provided so that the transaction can take place. This is managed in a secured online environment.
What is the policy on updating, correcting or deleting information?
The accuracy of the personal information that we hold is very important to us at Sense. If you do not wish to receive any information, news or offers from Sense, or if you would like to update or correct your details, please contact our Supporter Services team.
Making information accessible on request
You are entitled to access all your personal information held by Sense upon request, once identity has been satisfied. Incorrect information will be deleted or amended promptly. Requests will be responded to within 20 working days, unless under exceptional circumstances.
Security of information
We use a secure server when you make a donation via our website. We also take appropriate measures to ensure that the information disclosed to us is kept secure, accurate and up to date.
If I am under 16, can I provide personal information to Sense?
If you are aged 16 or under, please obtain your parent / guardian’s permission before you provide any personal information to Sense.
