International conference on acquired deafblindness
Independent dependency: living in two realities, the 9th international conference on acquired deafblindness, took place in Lund, Sweden from 7 to 10 November 2012.
It was organised by the Acquired Deafblindness Network, of which Sense's Liz Duncan is Chair. ADBN enables professionals within the field of acquired deafblindness to share and thereby develop best practice.
The conference explored the delicate balance between sustaining a person's independence at a time when their dependence on other people in their daily life is increasing.
A group from Sense, including two Sense members who are deafblind, delivered plenaries and workshops, and shared experiences with colleagues from all over the world.

Sense's Director of Information, Advice and Research Joff McGill was one of them - read his blog post, in which he shares his thoughts on a productive (and fun!) few days.
