The conference programme
Growing Stronger Together is an event for everyone in touch with Sense. The day provides an opportunity to share your views and experiences in a programme of workshops, keynote speakers, a market square, and the chance to meet staff on a one-to-one basis. All this is alongside plenty of time to meet others and socialise. Sense is also hosting a social on Saturday evening; we hope you can join us.
Will there be a Leisure club?
A Sense Leisure Club will be taking place during the day on Saturday. This is for deafblind people and young siblings who are not attending the conference. We will run activities in a supportive environment, enabling parents and carers to fully participate in the conference. The Leisure Club may go bowling, ice-skating or visit a near by Living Rainforest - a fun and adventurous day for all!
What are the timings?
The day will begin at 10am on Saturday 19th October and will run until 5pm. The Saturday evening social will start with dinner at 7pm.
Where is it being held?
The event will be held at Wokefield Park, near Reading. The venue is accessible to wheelchair users and a loop system will be in place. Sense will ensure the access requirements of all participants are met. Accommodation including accessible and family rooms are available onsite. The nearest mainline station is Reading. Mortimer station is nearer to the venue but is a station without a taxi rank.
What is the cost?
The day conference is free to everyone. Sense will provide lunch and refreshments throughout the day. We ask that people make and pay for their own travel arrangements to the venue and contribute to any accommodation costs.
