Diversity policy statement
Sense is a national charity established to support deafblind people. Our services are varied and tailored to meet the individual needs of each deafblind person we support. We also work to promote and advance the rights of deafblind people and their families.
To achieve this, we strive to ensure that Sense puts anti-discriminatory practices into effect in both employment and service delivery.
The success of Sense depends on our people.
Capitalising on what is unique about individuals and drawing on their different perspectives and experiences adds value to the way we deliver our services and who we deliver our services to.
By accessing, recruiting and developing people from the widest possible talent pool, Sense gains an insight into different communities, generating greater creativity in supporting the diverse needs of the deafblind people we support.
Equal opportunities and more
Sense constantly strives to create a productive environment, representative of and responsive to different cultures and groups, where everyone has an equal chance to succeed.
Sense's commitment to equality and diversity is more than promoting equal opportunities and eradicating discrimination. We are actively committed to encouraging and promoting the positive contribution of deafblind people who access our services, in shaping the support they receive and the direction of Sense as an organisation.
We strive to ensure that this is reflected in our practices, policies and services.
This commitment is detailed in our Diversity policy.
