Access to broadcasting

A woman BSL interpreting a TV programmeThe Government are reviewing the Communications Act. Importantly the Act currently sets a legal requirement for the provision of access services such as subtitles, signed content and audio description.

Sense wants to see access services extended beyond linear broadcasts to video on demand services and for the equipment that people use to watch broadcasts to be accessible.

In January Sense responded to a consultation on how easily deafblind people are able to use BBC red button and internet based services.
